The management interface provides a mechanism by which a program in user space can interact with the running driver. Through the ioctl system call, a user program can get a list of the information available, and then read/modify individual values. There are three categories of management information:
- Status - A status is a read-only value. The ocs_mgmt_get_status_list() function returns a list of available status properties. The ocs_mgmt_get_status() function returns the value of a particular property.
- Configuration - A configuration is a read/write value. The ocs_mgmt_get_config_list() function returns a list of configuration properties. The ocs_mgmt_get_config() function returns the current value of a property. The ocs_mgmt_set_config() function changes the value of a property.
- Action - An action allows a user to perform an action in the driver, such as updating firmware or bringing a link up/down. The ocs_mgmt_get_action_list() function returns a list of available actions. The ocs_mgmt_do_action() function invokes a particular action.
