License
Synology VPN Plus premium features require either or both types of the following licenses according to your uses and purposes:
- Client VPN Access License:
- Licenses are required for the premium features including Synology SSL VPN, WebVPN, and SSTP.
- One license allows one concurrent user account to use the premium features from multiple client devices simultaneously.
- Only user accounts given permissions of corresponding premium features (at Permission > Services) are allowed access. The permitted accounts are given access on a first-come, first-served basis. When the license quota is reached, other attempted access will have to wait until there is vacancy.
- Site-to-Site VPN License:
- Licenses are required for setting up secure connections for networks in multiple fixed locations with each other over the Internet.
- Each Synology product which supports VPN Plus Server needs one license to activate this premium feature. Once the license is validated, it will never expire.
Note:
- Site-to-Site VPN License will be available soon.
To add licenses:
You can add purchased licenses on VPN Plus Server to allow more users access to the premium features.
- Open VPN Plus Server, and click License on the left panel.
- Click Add License and follow the wizard's instructions.
- Log in to your Synology Account, and make sure the Synology Router has stable Internet connection for license validation.
- Specify the type and amount of licenses you wish to purchase, and fill in your credit card information to finish the payment.
- After the license key passes validation, its license will be added to VPN Plus Server.
Note:
- One license key can be applied to only one VPN Plus supported Synology product.
- Licenses cannot be migrated to another Synology product once activated.
- You can view current status and relevant information of activated licenses at your Synology Account.
- If you log out of the Synology Account in SRM or uninstall VPN Plus Server, the licenses will be suspended. To re-activate the licenses, simply log in to the Synology Account in SRM again.
- Each Synology Router model has its recommended maximum number of concurrent connections. To see the details, go to Synology's official website and find its product specifications.
