Managing Albums
The albums in Synology Moments are virtual albums created automatically or manually. This package smartly organizes large amounts of photos and videos, allowing you to effectively manage them and flexibly share the albums you created with friends.
Overview
The albums in the Albums tab are divided into the upper and lower sections with a horizontal line.
Automatically created albums:
The upper section contains automatically created albums with the following album names:
- Shared: Includes the albums shared by other users and the albums shared by me.
- People: Includes the photos grouped together based on similar faces.
- Subjects: Includes the photos grouped together based on predefined objects and scenes.
- Places: Includes the photos grouped together based on where they were taken. Albums are categorized by locations, and are listed by the quantity of albums in descending order.
- Tags: Includes the photos grouped together by same tags (tags can be edited when photos are viewed in full screen).
- Videos: Includes all the videos.
- Recently Added: Includes the photos and videos uploaded to Synology Moments over the past 30 days.
Note:
- You can go to the Account icon on the bottom left corner and select Settings > Albums to enable or disable the following albums: People, Subjects, and Places. Admins have the privilege to enable certain albums for users.
- The albums People and Subjects are only available on supported models. The performance of your Synology NAS might be affected during the image recognition process.
Manually created albums:
The lower section contains manually created albums. Since these albums are virtual albums, you can add the same photos and videos to multiple albums without occupying additional storage space, thus preventing data redundancy.
- To adjust the sorting of manually created albums, click the Account icon > Settings > Albums and select your preferred sorting option.
Note:
- The albums in Synology Moments are not arranged in folder hierarchy like that in Synology Drive Server or other file sharing protocols. Go to Folder View in the Photos tab if you want to view photos and videos organized in folder hierarchy.
