Synology File Manager
Synology File Manager and its client are tools designed especially for accessing and transfering files between your personal computers and Synology NAS, allowing you to monitor all user connections, view user activity logs, and manage the global settings.
Note:
- Before accessing or transferring files between Synology NAS and your local computer, client application with the same version as that of the connected server must be installed on the client computer first.
- Go to Overview to download the client installer for Synology File Manager.
- To disable Synology File Manager, go to Package Center > Installed and click Stop in the Action drop down menu.
- To access the server of Synology File Manager, the firewalls for port 3362 (TCP) and port 3363 (TCP) must be opened.
- Port 3362 (TCP) and port 3363 (TCP) are the two default ports of Synology File Manager. When port-forwarding is required on Synology File Manager, please inform the client users to enter the port (N) corresponding to port 3362, and make sure the subsequent port (N + 1) is also open so that it can be mapped to port 3363. For example, when port 1001 is open, client users should enter port 1001 so that it can be mapped to port 3362; in addition, the administrator should make sure that port 1002 (not port 1000) is open, so that it can be mapped to port 3363.
