Synology Application Service provides a framework to enrich the features and services of Synology packages, including push notifications and profile settings. With Synology Application Service, coherent configurations can be shared across different packages, adding on the value and functionality of your collaboration packages. Please see the following to learn more.
Once Synology Application Service is launched, the following features and services will be provided in Chat, Calendar, MailPlus and Office packages. However, configurations and availability for some of the following features may differ slightly in different packages. For more information about the features supported on these packages, please see the Help articles for each package.
You can receive push notifications by enabling email, mobile device, and/or browser notifications, through which you will be notified of new messages or alerts even when you are not actively using the packages, making it easier for you to stay on top of your tasks.
After you have updated your personal profile (e.g. profile photo, nickname, email account, personal description, and preferred display language) on a package, the updated profile will be automatically displayed on and applied to the other packages. Therefore, coherence can be shared across different packages, without needing to individually update your profile on each package.
Without needing to log in to DSM, you can add and edit email accounts while using the packages. The package users can easily add and edit email accounts, regardless of whether they have access to DSM or not. Therefore, the convenience in sending emails can be increased and cross-departmental communications can be improved.
The App Launcher in Chat, Calendar, MailPlus and Office allows you to quickly launch packages without navigating to DSM. You can click the App Launcher icon on the user interface of a package to launch the other packages, without the hassle of opening new browser tabs.
