Retrieve Videos
In Retrieve Videos, you can set up the retrieval method for edge recording.
Choosing a Video Retrieval Method
After you have selected Enable retrieve video from camera, you can choose different retrieval methods to determine the way to implement edge recording. If this function is not enabled, recordings will not be retrieved from the camera unless you check the SD card manually to retrieve recordings. You need to set a recording schedule for Surveillance Station by going to the Schedule tab.
- Retrieve when connection is restored
Recorded videos will be stored in both Surveillance Station and the camera storage. Lost videos resulting from network disruptions will be automatically retrieved from the camera and merged with Surveillance Station's recordings once the connection has been re-established. You need to set a recording schedule for Surveillance Station by going to the Schedule tab.
- Retrieve on schedule
Recorded videos will only be stored in the camera's SD card. You need to set a download schedule to retrieve videos by going to the Schedule tab. Surveillance Station will then retrieve recordings according to the assigned download schedule.
To check the retrieved videos in Surveillance Station:
Go to Recording to check the retrieved recordings. The status of recordings retrieved from the camera will be marked in purple, which makes it easier to identify.
Note:
- Recordings that are being downloaded will be temporarily treated as videos that are being recorded and transported from the camera to Surveillance Station.
- Streaming MJPEG recordings larger than 2040x2040 pixels over RTSP is not supported.
