Push Service
Push service sends notifications to your mobile devices when the system status changes or errors occur.
Note:
- Before enabling push service, please make sure your Synology NAS/NVR can access the Internet using port 8089.
- To integrate notifications for DSM and Surveillance Station, please refer to Advanced.
To use an email server hosted by Synology:
- Tick Send notifications regarding system status via Synology's email server.
- Enter one or more email addresses in the Recipients field.
Note: Addresses must be separated with semicolons (;).
- Tick Attach an event snapshot if you wish to receive snapshots along with notifications.
- Tick Enable email interval limit if you do not wish to receive repeated notifications of the same event. You can specify how frequently to receive notifications in the Minimum interval between each message (minutes) field.
Note: To reduce the number of notifications, you can also try lowering the sensitivity and increasing the threshold of event detection, or going to the Advanced tab to modify Notification Combination Settings.
- Click Save to continue. A verification email will be sent to the specified addresses. Please follow the steps in the verification email.
- After the verification, click Send a test message and click OK Check your settings if no email is received.
Note:
- Even when notification integration is enabled in the Advanced tab, the Attach an event snapshot and Enable email interval limit options in the Email tab are still available for Surveillance Station events only.
To enable mobile device notifications:
- On your mobile device, install and sign in to DS cam.
- Back in Surveillance Station, click Send a test message, and click OK.
- Launch DS cam to see if you have received the test message. If not, check DS cam push service and mobile notification settings.
Note:
- To receive notifications from DSM, please install DS finder on your mobile device and add your Synology product to the favorites list.
To manage paired mobile devices:
- Click Manage paired DS cam or Manage paired DS finder to see the list of all paired mobile devices.
Note: The Manage paired DS finder button will only show if you have enabled notification integration in the Advanced tab.
- To unpair a device, select it and click Unpair. You can press and hold Shift or Ctrl to make multiple selections. No notifications will be sent to the unpaired devices unless you pair them up again.
- Click Close to finish.
Note:
- The language of mobile notifications is determined by the language setting of your mobile device.
- The push notification service provided by DS finder is only available on iOS and Android platforms.
