Recording Player
You can use the Recording Player to watch recordings. A variety of different playback features help you easily perform surveillance tasks.
To play recordings using Recording Player, do either of the following:
- Select the recorded clip(s) you want to play from the list, and click Play. (Press and hold the "Shift" or "Ctrl" key for multiple selections.)
- Right-click one or multiple recorded clip(s), and click Play. (Press and hold the "Shift" or "Ctrl" key for multiple selections.)
- Double-click a recorded clip to open Recording Player.
To use Recording Player:
- Once you open a recording, you can do any of the following in Recording Player:
- Click
to play the video. Click
to pause or
to stop playback.
- Click
or
to go to the previous or next recording.
- While playing, click
or
to play the recording backward or forward.
- While playing, click
or
to slow down or speed up the video.
- While paused, click
or
to skip to the previous or next frame.
- Click
to view the playlist. Recordings will be played according to the order in the playlist.
- Auto playlist: All recordings are automatically included in the playlist. You cannot remove any recording from the playlist.
- Playlist: The playlist can be modified. You can add a recording to the playlist by dragging and dropping a recording to the player.
- Bookmarks: Lists all the bookmarks you added. You can play recordings from the bookmarked time, or edit and delete existing bookmarks.
- Click
to repeat recordings. Click this button again to switch between repeat one or all recordings in the playlist.
- The following on-screen buttons or checkboxes are also available on the bottom of the video when you mouse over the Recording Player window:
- Click Snapshot
to take a snapshot of the video.
- Click Drag and zoom
, and then click and drag with the mouse to digitally zoom in on the selected area. Scroll the mouse wheel to further zoom in/out as necessary. Click Reset digital zoom
at the upper-left corner to return to the default zoom level.
- Click Download
to open the download page for the current recording. The video clip will be saved in MP4 format.
- Download the complete file: Download the complete recording.
- Download a video clip: Specify the time interval of the recording clip you wish to download.
Note: If the length of the original recording file is shorter than 10 seconds, you can only download the complete file.
- Click Bookmark
to add bookmarks and descriptions to specific times of the recordings. Saved bookmarks can be found in the Bookmarks playlist.
- Mouse over Volume
to adjust the volume with the volume bar (for cameras with audio support). You can also click on this button to mute/unmute the audio.
- Click Settings
and tick Time slicing to slice the video into four segments. This function is only available when the video length is longer than one minute. When you mouse over the bottom of each window, you can take snapshots or untick Time slicing again to leave the mode.
- Click Settings
and tick Fixed aspect ratio to preserve the video's original aspect ratio.
- Click Settings
and click Image Enhancement to adjust or enhance the image display of recordings. Drag the slider bars to modify corresponding values:
- Brightness
- Contrast
- Saturation
- Sharpness
Note:
- From Surveillance Station 8.2 and onwards, HTML5 player will be used in Surveillance Station web-based interface for video streaming, and plugins will no longer be required. Please find browser limitations listed below, you may also refer to this article for more information:
- Only H.264 and MJPEG video codecs are supported.
- At most 36 channels are supported in Live View layout.
- Joysticks, Fisheye Dewarping, Smart Search, and Live View Analytics are not supported.
