Smart Search

With Smart Search, you can search recordings for specific actions and behavior such as general movement, missing/foreign objects, and camera occlusion. Once you have set up search criteria, Smart Search will search through the specified recordings and automatically identify any matching recordings, allowing you to view them.

Note:

To set up search criteria:

  1. Under Source, select a recording to search through by selecting a server, camera, and date.
  2. Under Settings, select one of the following search types:
  3. Under Settings, select a sensitivity level. A higher sensitivity level will yield more search results but may also yield more false alarms.
  4. Under Settings, select an object size. An object size of 1x represents one one-hundredth of the search zone size. Click and drag to reposition the yellow rectangle to the area you want to search. The yellow rectangle should be smaller than the object you want to search for. This option is only available for Foreign Object.
  5. Under Settings, select a dwell time. This option is only available for No-Idle Zone.
  6. Under Detection Zone, use any of the following options to set up a detection zone for searching. These options are only available for Motion Detection, Missing Object, and Foreign Object.

To use advanced search settings:

  1. Click to open the advanced search settings window.
  2. Use any of the following options to define your search criteria:

    Note:

    • Increasing the time interval will improve search time. However, it will also decrease search accuracy.

To search recordings:

  1. Set up search criteria using the information above.
  2. Click to start searching. You can click to pause searching. While paused, you can change search criteria. Changing search criteria will not clear the results list.
  3. Click or to move the timeline pointer backward or forward one hour. Once Smart Search finishes searching the selected day's recordings, it will continue searching recordings that are more recent until reaching the specified end time or current time.

To view recording search results:

  1. Click to expand Result List.
  2. Double-click a recording, or click on a recording to play it in Recording Player.
