General
In the General tab, you can fine-tune the following settings, according to your camera's physical environment, to optimize the video feed.
Note:
- Depending on the specifications, the actual settings applicable to each individual camera may vary by brand or by model. Certain features may not be available if they are not supported by the camera in question.
Time Synchronization
- Network time server: If Surveillance Station is selected to be the time server for the camera, both Surveillance Station and the camera are required to be located in the same LAN. If another Internet time server is selected, please make sure the camera is connected to the Internet.
- Force synchronize every: You can enable this option and specify the time interval to synchronize the current time of Surveillance Station to your camera.
Note: This option is only available when Surveillance Station is selected to be time server, and will work only when the camera is enabled.
- Execute time: You can specify the execute time on the day of action.
Note: This option is only available when Surveillance Station is selected to be the time server, and day is set as the unit in the Force synchronize every option.
- Sync now: Force synchronize the current time of Surveillance Station to your camera immediately.
Note: This option is only available when Surveillance Station is selected to be the time server.
Note:
- When the time difference between the camera and time server is too large, it will take much longer to complete the synchronization. We thus recommend setting up the Force sync function or manually adjusting the time on the web-based interface of your camera first.
- Please make sure the daylight saving time (DST) setting on time server is the same with your camera.
- Please make sure the time zone of time server is the same with your camera.
On-Screen Display
- Time Stamp: Choose to show or hide the time stamp, which is displayed on the recorded or live view video.
- Format: Choose to show date, time, and/or text.
- Position: Choose where the time stamp should appear.
Exposure Mode
- Exposure Control: Reduce the flicker noise of the light source. If you set this to Auto, the camera will detect the flickering frequency and dynamically adjust the noise reduction. If you choose Hold Current, the camera will stop detecting and keep the current status.
- Day/Night mode: Switch among auto, day, night mode, or schedule. If you choose Schedule, you will need to specify the daytime period with Schedule (Day).
- Schedule (Day): Specify the daytime period when you want to configure your camera to day mode. The other times which have not been selected will be set to night mode. Certain cameras support a cross-midnight schedule, allowing end time to be set earlier than start time.
