List
In the List tab, you can browse, play, download, delete, lock, and unlock all recordings. The left panel shows all recording categories. Recording categories can be sorted by recording date and camera. The recording list on the right displays all recordings in the selected category. Recordings are tagged with the following Status icons:
: Continuous Recording
: Advanced Continuous Recording
: Manual Recording
: Motion Detection Recording
: Customize 1 Recording
: Customize 2 Recording
: Edge Recording
: Action Rule Recording
: Indicates the recording is being saved
Note:
- Before watching recordings or live views with Mac Safari 5.1 or onward, make sure your browser settings are appropriate. Click here for more information.
- The recordings of deleted cameras are reserved here for you to playback and manage.
Manage Recordings
To play recordings using Recording Player, do either of the following:
- Select the recorded clips you wish to play from the list, and click Play.1
- Right-click one or multiple recorded clip(s), and click Play.1
- Double-click a recorded clip to open Recording Player. To learn more about how to use Recording Player, click here.
To download recordings:
Select the recorded clip you wish to download, click Download to open the download page, and select a download option from below. The file will be saved in MP4 format.
- Download the complete file: Download the complete recording file you selected.
- Download specified periods of recordings: Download recordings of any specified time period of the selected camera. Truncated videos can be merged together as well.
Note: The time period is limited to 4 hours.
- Add watermark: Tick the checkbox to add a watermark to the recording. You can select one or both types of watermarks:
- Text watermark: Tick the checkbox and specify the Text, Font, Position, and Opacity settings.
- Image watermark: Tick the checkbox, click Browse to select a file, and specify the Position, Size, and Opacity settings.
Note:
- Watermarks are only available on Synology Surveillance Station Client.
- Watermarks can only use fonts already installed on your computer.
- Supported watermark image formats: BMP, JPG, JPEG, PNG.
- Recordings with watermarks cannot be authenticated by Synology Evidence Integrity Authenticator.
- If the recordings you wish to download are in different resolutions, watermarks cannot be added.
To label recordings:
- Select a recording and click Label.
- To create a new label, click Create new, enter a name and select a color, then click Create.
- To use an existing label, click label, select a label, and click Apply.
Note:
- You can only add up to 10 labels.
To edit/delete labels:
- Click Label > Manage Labels.
- To edit, select a label and click Edit, modify the name and color, then click Save.
- To delete, select a label and click Delete.
- Click OK to complete.
To lock recordings:
Click the Lock button, and do any of the following:
- Lock selected items: The selected recordings will be locked.1
- Lock this category: The recordings in the selected chronological category will be locked.
Note: You can also right-click on the category and select Lock to conduct this operation.
Locking recordings prevents them from being removed by the delete button or archive rotation settings.
Note:
- You cannot lock the recorded clips of which the recording is still in progress.
To unlock recordings:
Click the Unlock button, and do any of the following to unlock recordings:
- Unlock selected items: The selected recordings will be unlocked.1
- Unlock this category: The recordings in the selected chronological category will be unlocked.
Note: You can also right-click on the category and select Unlock to conduct this operation.
To truncate video recording:
If the recorded clip is being recorded, right-click on the clip and select Truncate the recording to stop recording immediately and save the recorded portion.
Note: Surveillance Station will start another clip for continuous recording.
To delete recordings:
Click the Delete button and do any of the following:
- Delete selected items: The selected recordings will be deleted.1
- Delete this category: The recordings in the selected category will be deleted.
- Delete all: All recordings will be deleted.
- Delete filtered items in this category: If you have set a filter in the selected category, recordings that match the criteria will be deleted.
To filter recordings:
Click the magnifying glass icon, and then filter recordings by servers, cameras, modes, lock status, and time.
To change viewing mode:
Click
in the upper-right corner and select a viewing mode.
To share recordings:
- Right-click on a recorded clip and select Share file link.
- In the Link tab, you can copy Download Link or View Link. You can also click the copy button to copy the links to the clipboard, or click the play button to open the view link in a new tab.
- In the Embedded tab, you can find the embedded HTML code of the selected recorded clip. You can click the copy button to copy the code, or click the play button to play the embedded video in a new tab.
Note:
- Use Ctrl or Shift for multiple selections.
