Activity
On the Activity page, you can not merely monitor profile and system events, but generate reports covering detailed statistics of profiles' Internet activities.
Blocking Activity
Safe Access records network access attempts that are blocked by web filters and Network Protection. At Activity > Blocking Activity, you can search logs by the following criteria:
- Keyword: Enter a keyword to search for logs that contain matching words.
- Profile: Search for logs by profile.
- Device: Search for logs by device.
- Date Range: Choose among Today, Yesterday, Last week, and Last month.
- Date: Choose a date from the calendar.
- Event Type: Select an event type from the drop-down menu.
System Log
At the System Log tab, all setting changes in Safe Access are logged, which helps system administrators to monitor the package and troubleshoot any possible issues. Recorded event types are listed below:
- Profiles
- Web filters
- Block page styles
- Network Protection
- Notifications
Report
Safe Access offers visualized reports that help you analyze and keep track of each profile's Internet activities.
To generate a report:
- Go to Activity > Report and click Generate Report.
- Configure the following settings:
- Name: Enter a name for the report.
- Email (optional): When a report is generated, its link will be sent to this email address.
- Decide when you wish to generate the report: Generate now or Schedule to generate reports.
- Specify the time span for your report from the Type drop-down menu:
- Daily report records the history within 24 hours.
- Weekly report records the history within 7 days.
- Monthly report records the history within 1 month.
- Configure the Start Time or Schedule from the drop-down menu.
Note:
- Automatically generated reports are named after a task name followed by an incremental number. For example, if the task name is "2018 HQ", the first generated report will be named "2018 HQ", the second "2018 HQ_1", the third "2018 HQ_2", and so forth.
- The maximum number of report tasks is 10.
- Data will be retained for one month.
- The maximum storage capacity of Safe Access reports is 200 MB. When the limit is reached, older files will be deleted to make space for newer ones.
To manage report tasks:
- Go to Activity > Report and click Manage Report Tasks.
- In the Manage Report Tasks window, you can click to select a task to do the following operations:
- Add: Add a report task.
- Edit: Change the task settings.
- Delete: Delete the task. You can select multiple tasks by pressing Ctrl or Shift to delete them at once.
- Generate Report Now: Manually start generating a report for the selected task by clicking this button.
To view a generated report:
- Go to Activity > Report, and you will see a list of generated reports.
- Click the arrow button at the right to a report to open the report in a new tab of your web browser. Please refer to the Report content section below to know more about the information you can acquire from a report.
Report content
A report generated from the Report tab contains the following information:
- Overview: Displays top statistics from Internet Usage, Blocked Times, Inappropriate Attempts, and Dangerous Attempts.
- Activity: Displays the top 10 inappropriate and dangerous websites profiles attempted to access.
Besides, the report provides statistics for each profile:
- Summary: Displays overall statistics including the number of connected devices, inappropriate websites the profile most often attempted to access, and dangerous websites the profile most often attempted to access.
- Inappropriate Attempts: Displays inappropriate websites the profile attempted to access within the time interval of the report.
- Dangerous Attempts: Displays dangerous websites the profile attempted to access within the time interval of the report.
- Request List: Displays all requests sent from the profile.
- Visited Dangerous Websites: Displays all dangerous websites visited by the profile.
