Presto File Server

Presto File Server and Presto are tools designed especially for rapid and secure file transfer between your personal computers and Synology NAS. From Presto File Server, you can monitor all user connections, view user activity logs, generate detailed reports of all data traffic according to schedules, as well as manage the global settings and add Presto File Server licenses.

Note:

To permit DSM user's access to Presto File Server:

  1. Go to Control Panel > Privileges and select Presto File Server. Click Edit.
  2. Go to User or Group tab to enable the users and groups to access Presto File Server. Specify IP settings where needed.
  3. Go to the Default privileges tab to specify whether new users will be automatically granted access to use Presto File Server.

Overview

The Overview tab displays a list of active clients, real-time upload/download status, current license status, and transfer speeds. You can also download Presto client for your operating system.

Activity

In the Activity tab, you can view, search for, and export logs.

Report

In the Statistics tab, you can view statistics such as total files transferred, total transferred size, and average transfer speed from over the Past 24 hours, Past 7 days, and Past month. Upload and download statistics are displayed in pie charts for you to easily see total usage of each user.

In the Report tab, you can generate detailed reports of Presto File Server usage. You can set an email recipient and configure a schedule to receive daily, weekly, monthly, or annual reports. To see a report immediately, you can click the Generate report now button.

Settings

In the Settings tab, you can set the total bandwidth that can be shared by all the clients connected to the server when sending and receiving data.

License

In the License tab, you can get an overview of the current license status, view a list of the licenses currently in use, and add Presto File Server licenses.
