Please read the following notes for important setup details and troubleshooting tips for your Synology NAS as the backup source.

Back up (shared) folders:

Hyper Backup offers you flexible ways to select the shared folders, folders, and files you wish to back up. You can tick and untick the checkboxes to select what to back up. There are 3 different backup selections to choose from:

Backup Selection Description
Parent and subfolder backup
Back up selected subfolders "a, b, c", as well as all individual files within folder "A". Any new subfolders and individual files created in folder "A" in the future will also be backed up.
Parent folder backup
Back up only individual files within folder "A". Any new subfolders and individual files created in folder "A" in the future will also be backed up.
Subfolder backup
Back up only selected subfolders "a, b, c" within folder "A".

Back up system configurations:

The system configurations will be backed up by default every time a version is created. When restored, the system configurations will rewrite the current ones if they conflict. Below are the system configurations for backup:

Back up Windows ACL settings:

The Windows ACL settings of the files on the Synology NAS can be backed up regardless of the file system of the destination.
