Users & Computers
In Users & Computers, you can add, edit, and remove objects in the domain.
Main Page
There are 4 columns on the main page: Type, Name, Description, and Status.
- Type: This indicates whether the entry is a user, a group, a computer, or an organizational unit.
- Name
- Description
- Status: The status of the user can be either Normal or Disabled.
User
Click the default Users directory in the left panel of the page to perform operations for user objects showing at the right.
To add a user:
- Click Add > User.
- Configure the new user in the User Information page.
Note: Password strength requirements depend on the password policy configured in Domain Policy.
- Select the groups for the user to be a member of.
- Click Apply to save settings.
To import users
- Click Add > Import users.
- Select a file to upload. The file should contain user information in CSV format. For more details, please refer to the File Format section below.
- Confirm the preview is correct and click OK to import.
File Format
When preparing a file to import, different user accounts should be recorded on separate rows and each of the below values should be separated by a Tab in the following order (from left to right):
- Username
- Password
- Description
- E-mail
- First name
- Last name
- Full name
- Profile path
- Login script
- Home directory (Z:)
To edit user properties:
- Select the users you wish to edit, and click Action > Edit.
Note: You can press and hold Ctrl or Shift to select multiple items.
- Edit the user properties in related tabs. For more information on the property settings of user accounts, please refer to the Note below.
- Click OK to save settings.
Note:
In the Account tab, you will see the following options:
- Lock out this account: This property is enabled when an account is locked out because of account lockout policy. You can unlock the locked account by disabling this property.
- Force this account to change password at next login: This account will be asked to change the passwords upon next login to Windows®.
- Disallow the user to change password: This user will not be able to change passwords on his or her own.
- Password never expires: Password of this user will never expire.
- Store passwords using reversible encryption: Enabling this option will compromise the password security.
- Disable this account
- Require smart card for interactive login
- Disallow delegation of this sensitive account: Services of trusted computers will not be able to use this account to access other resources.
- Use DES encryption for this account: Use DES encryption upon Kerberos authentication.
- Exempt this account from Kerberos preauthentication
In the Profile tab, you will see the following options:
- Profile path: The folder path which contains the user's profile, such as Desktop, Document, and Picture.
- Login script: A script is automatically executed when a user logs in the Windows operating system. You can upload a Windows bat file of 2 MB or less by clicking the upload script button.
- Home Directory: The default path for Windows Command Prompt.
- Local path: Set Home Directory to a specific local folder
- Connect...to: Set Home Directory to a specific remote shared folder on your $_DSPRODUCTNAME_$. The remote shared folder will be automatically mounted as a drive with a specific volume label by the Windows operating system if this option is selected.

To delete users:
- Select the users you wish to delete, and click Action > Delete.
Note: You can press and hold Ctrl or Shift to select multiple items.
- Click Delete in the pop-up message to confirm the deletion.
Note:
- The deletion of users is irreversible.
Group
Click the default Users directory in the left panel of the page to perform operations for group objects showing at the right.
To add a group:
- Click Add > Group.
- Configure the new group in the Group Information page.
- Click Apply to save settings.
To edit group properties:
- Select the groups you wish to edit, and click Action > Edit.
Note: You can press and hold Ctrl or Shift to select multiple items.
- Edit the group properties in related tabs.
- Click OK to save settings.
To delete groups:
- Select the groups you wish to delete, and click Action > Delete.
Note: You can press and hold Ctrl or Shift to select multiple items.
- Click Delete in the pop-up message to confirm the deletion.
Note:
- The deletion of groups is irreversible.
Computer
Click the default Computers directory in the left panel of the page to perform operations for computer objects showing at the right.
To edit computer properties:
- Select the computer you wish to edit, and click Action > Edit.
- Edit the Description for the computer.
- Click OK to save settings.
To delete a computer:
- Select the computer you wish to delete, and click Action > Delete.
- Click Delete in the pop-up message to confirm the deletion.
Note:
- The deletion of computers is irreversible.
Organizational Unit
Organizational units are displayed in the left panel of the page.
To add an organizational unit:
- Select an organizational unit to which you wish to add an organizational unit, and click Add > Organizational unit.
- Name the new organizational unit in the field, and click OK.
- Right-click on the parent directory of the newly added organizational unit, and click Reload. The newly added organizational unit will then show in the left panel of the page.
To add objects to an organizational unit:
You can drag an drop one or more objects at the right to an organizational unit in the left panel of the page.
Note:
- Default directories only show the objects not belonging to any organizational units. To view all users, groups, and/or computers, please click the magnifying glass icon at the upper-right corner, and select the types you wish to search for.
To delete an organizational unit:
- In the left panel of the page, right-click on the organizational unit you wish to delete, and click Delete.
- Click Delete in the pop-up message to confirm the deletion.
