General Settings

At the Account icon > Settings, you can modify your account information, batch edit address books, switch between different account systems, and migrate contact data from Synology MailPlus.

Account Settings

At the Profile tab, the following account settings can be edited:

After modifying account settings, click Save to apply the changes.

Address Book Settings

At the Address Book tab, you can configure the following settings for address books:

Advanced (Administrator Only)

At the Advanced tab, you can determine an account system that stores the Synology Contacts user accounts, and also migrate contact information from Synology MailPlus to this package.

To switch to another account system:

Synology Contacts allows user accounts in three types of account system on Synology NAS to access contacts: local users, domain users, and LDAP users. You can switch from one account system to another by following the steps below:

  1. Go to the Account icon > Settings > Advanced.
  2. Click the account system to which you want to switch in the Account System section.
  3. Click Save to change the account system.

Note:

To migrate contacts from Synology MailPlus:

For Synology MailPlus 2.2.0 or later, contacts will be automatically migrated to Synology Contacts once it is installed. If the automatic migration fails, you can still follow the steps below to migrate contacts manually:

  1. Go to the Account icon > Settings > Advanced.
  2. Click Migrate in the Contacts Migration section.
  3. Click Migrate again in the pop-up window to start the migration.

Note:

To disallow users to share address books:

  1. Go to the Account icon > Settings > Advanced.
  2. Under the Shared Address Book section, tick Disable the sharing feature to prevent users from sharing address books.

Recommended Limits of Synology Contacts

The following are the recommended limits of Synology Contacts. If you exceed the numbers, the performance of Synology Contacts may be affected and you may not be able to perform certain actions.
