Using Search in Synology Chat
The search function in Synology Chat is a very powerful tool that allows you to search for any information you are looking for. Search is divided into three sections:
- Attributes: This section includes the operators has, filetype, and hashtag.
- Conversations: This section includes the operators in, from, and mention.
- Time: This section includes the operators before, and after.
To use operators for Chat search:
There are several operators that you can enter in the search bar to search for specific types of messages. Below is a list of all the operators and their descriptions:
- has: to search for any bookmarked, pinned, or poll messages and any messages that contain files, reactions, or URLs.
- filetype: to search for a certain filetype.
- hashtag #: to search for a certain hashtag.
- in: to search within a certain channel or conversation.
- from: to search for any messages from a certain user.
- mention: to search for any messages that mention a certain user.
- before: to search for any messages before a certain date.
- after: to search for any messages after a certain date.
To view search results:
Operations will vary on the type of search results.
- Click the Jump to message icon to jump back to the original message.
- Click the More options icon to bookmark a message or download a file.
