Repair Cluster
If the cluster's CMS Host suffers an unexpected error and becomes unavailable, you won't be able to login and manage the cluster. To fix this problem, you must install CMS on a healthy Synology NAS and join all of the cluster servers to this new CMS Host. This process is referred to as "repairing" a cluster.
To repair a cluster:
- Login to a healthy Synology NAS in the same network as the cluster and install the CMS package.
- Once installed, go to CMS > Cluster Overview and click Repair Cluster.
- Select the cluster to repair.
Note:
- Make sure all computing and storage servers belonging to the selected cluster are online and ready to be joined to the new CMS Host.
- If necessary, computing and storage servers that are added to the new CMS Host can always be removed at CMS > Server.
- Select one or more servers to join to the CMS Host. Then click Authentication and enter the login credentials of the selected servers.
Note:
- For servers that have 2-step verification enabled, the verification code for each server must be entered one-by-one.
- Repeat the above step until all cluster servers are joined to the CMS Host.
