DS photo+ Help

DS photo+ allows you to access Photo Station with an Android® phone and share your precious moments on the go. Download and save photos from Photo Station to your Android phone so you can enjoy the flashbacks anytime anywhere. You can also use DS photo+ to upload snapshots or videos from your camera phone straight to Photo Station. Besides, you and your friends can interact by leaving comments on any photos, adding more fun to your photo sharing experiences.

Login and Logout

When you launch DS photo+ for the first time, you will see the login screen, allowing you to log in by manually entering the login information, or by having DS photo+ fill in the information automatically for you.

To log in to DS photo+ by entering the login information:

You can log in with your Photo Station user account, or leave blank in the account and password field to log in as guest.

To have DS photo+ fill in the login information for you:

On the login screen, tap the arrow button next to the IP field. Here you will see the following sections:

Tap any entry to return to the login screen where part of the login information is filled in automatically, enter the remaining information, and then tap Login.

To log out of DS photo+:

After logging in to DS photo+, you will see the list of albums stored on your Photo Station. Press the menu button, and then tap Logout and Yes to log out.

Note: If you have logged in to DS photo+ without logging out, it will save your login information and log in automatically when you launch DS photo+ next time.

View Photos or Videos

On the album list, you can tap to enter any album to browse its photos or videos, play a slideshow, and check photo or video info.

To view photos and videos:

Tap an album on the album list to view its photo or video thumbnails. Tap a thumbnail to see the photo or video in full screen. You can rotate your phone sideways to change the display to landscape or portrait.

Note: DS photo+ will only show the videos which can be played on your phone.

To search for albums, photos, and videos:

On the album list, press the menu button and tap Search, and enter the keyword in the search field. You can search the name and info of any albums, photos, and videos.

To show or hide the controls for the photo or video:

When you are viewing a photo or video in full screen, tap the screen to show or hide the thumbnail sliding bar at the bottom and the zoom in and zoom out button at the top.

To navigate through photos or videos:

Flick left or right to see the next or previous photo or video. To quickly find a photo or video in the album, slide and tap the thumbnail sliding bar at the bottom for quick navigation.

To zoom in or out on a photo, do any of the following:

To play a slideshow:

When you are viewing a photo or video in full screen, press the menu button and tap Slideshow to start the slideshow. Tap the screen again to stop the slideshow.

To control video playback:

When you are viewing a video in full screen, tap the play icon in the center of the screen to play the video. Tap the screen to show the progress bar at the bottom, and tap anywhere in the progress bar or drag the playhead to skip to any point you like.

To view or edit photo or video info:

When you are viewing a photo or video in full screen, press the menu button and tap Photo Info or Video Info to view or edit its title and description. Tap Save to synchronize the changes you made to Photo Station.

If the photo or video contains geographical information, you can also see the location where it is taken on the map.

Note: Only Photo Station users with access permission to the album can edit the photo or video info.

View or Leave Comments on Photos or Videos

You can view your friends' comments on your photos or videos and reply with DS photo+.

To view your friends' comments:

When you are viewing a photo or video in full screen, press the menu button and tap Comments. You can see your friends' comments on the screen.

To leave a comment:

When you are viewing a photo or video in full screen, press the menu button and tap Comments. Write down your comments in the Write a comment field and tap Post. Enter your name (required) and Email (optional) and tap Comments. You will see your comment on the screen.

Download Photos

You can download your photos from Photo Station to your phone with DS photo+.

To download a photo:

When you are viewing a photo in full screen, press the menu button and tap Download Photo. The photo will be downloaded to the DSPhoto+ folder of your phone gallery.

After the download is complete, you can share the downloaded photo with your friends via emails or messages using the functions provided by your phone.

Upload Photos or Videos

You can upload photos or videos from your phone to Photo Station with DS photo+ by uploading to existing albums or by creating a new album.

Note: Only Photo Station users with upload permission to the album can upload photos or videos to it.

To create a new album before uploading:

On the album list or a thumbnail page, press the menu button and tap Create New Album, enter the name for the album, and tap Create New Album. You can see the created album on the album list or the thumbnail page.

To upload photos or videos:

  1. On the album list, tap the album you just created, or tap any existing album to enter its thumbnail page (or the screen displaying "This photo set contains no photos." if there are no items in that album).
  2. Press the menu button and tap Upload.
  3. Tap Add to browse to the photo or video in your phone gallery. You can also take photos and record videos for upload. Enter the title and description of the photo or video. Tap Add again to upload more items.
  4. When you finish adding items, tap Upload to start uploading. When the upload is complete, you can see the message DS photo+ uploaded the files successfully at the top of your screen.

View DS photo+ Settings

You can view your login information and DS photo+ Help on the Settings page.

To view DS photo+ settings:

On the album list, press the menu button and tap Settings. Here you can find your current login information and the DS photo+ Help you are seeing now, which provides useful information to help you get started with DS photo+.
