DS finder
DS finder allows DSM admin (or a user belonging to the administrators group) to find and monitor available DiskStations, and request them to start up (Wake on LAN), restart, shut down, or play beep sounds with an Android device.
Manage Server List
After launching DS finder, you will see the DiskStation in LAN list displaying all DiskStations found within the local area network. You can add a DiskStation to the Favorite list for quick access in the future.
To add a DiskStation to the Favorite list:

Do any of the following:
- Press the menu button and tap Add.

Touch and hold a DiskStation on the DiskStation in LAN list, and then choose Add.

Enter DiskStation's name, IP address (or DDNS hostname), port number, and your user credentials in the fields.
Note: The default port number is 5000. To change the port number, log in to DSM with your computer's web browser, and specify another number at Main Menu > Control Panel > DSM Settings.

Press the menu button and tap Save.
To remove a DiskStation from the Favorite list:
Touch and hold a DiskStation on the Favorite list, and then choose Delete.
Check DiskStation's System Information
You can check the system information of a DiskStation to monitor its status and make sure everything is working properly.
To check a DiskStation's system information:

Tap the DiskStation on the server list. If prompted, enter your user credentials and then tap OK.

Do any of the following:

Tap General to view the basic information about your DiskStation, including serial number, model name, the amount of physical memory, DSM version, as well as time information and thermal status.

Tap Network to view your DiskStation's network configuration and the status for each network interface.

Tap Storage to view DiskStation's volume usage and hard disk information.

Press the menu button and then tap Refresh to keep the system information up-to-date.

If you want to monitor another DiskStation, press the back button on your Android device, and then repeat the above steps.
To send a DiskStation's system information via email:

Tap the DiskStation on the server list. If prompted, enter your user credentials and then tap OK.

Tap the menu button and then tap Email.

Select an email account that has been set up on your Android device to send the system information.
Set DiskStation in Action
DS finder allows you to start up, restart, or shut down your DiskStation with your Android device. Moreover, when there are several DiskStations near you, you can quickly identify your DiskStation by requesting it to play beep sounds.
To start up a DiskStation:
When a DiskStation added to the Favorite list is shut down, you will see the Offline status next to the DiskStation. Tap the DiskStation on the Favorite list and then tap OK to start it up.
Note:
Before performing this action, make sure Wake on LAN* is enabled on the DiskStation. Log in to DSM with your computer's web browser to enable this function (at Main Menu > Control Panel > Power).
To request a DiskStation to restart, shut down, or play beep sounds:

Tap the DiskStation on the server list. If prompted, enter your user credentials and then tap OK.

Press the menu button and do any of the following:

Tap More > Restart and then tap OK to restart your DiskStation.

Tap More > Shutdown and then tap OK to shut down your DiskStation.

Tap Find me to request DiskStation to play beep sounds. Tap OK to stop beeping.

Manage DSM Settings
DS finder can help you connect to DSM mobile (the mobile version of DSM) to manage the DSM settings of a DiskStation.
To manage the DSM settings of a DiskStation:

Tap the DiskStation on the server list. If prompted, enter your user credentials and then tap OK.

Press the menu button and then tap DSM mobile. You will see the login screen of DSM mobile in your Android device's web browser.

Enter your DSM admin credentials and tap Login.
